A Simple Analogy
If there is no water in the overhead tank of your building, no amount of twisting and turning the tap of your kitchen will yield water. So if you don't eat sugar where will sugar come from in your blood. Insulin produced by pancreas in our body is responsible to control the sugar levels in our body. This mechanism has broken down due to some reason and thus Diabetes. Sugar is the primary source of energy for the body, consequently is the basic necessity for us. So why does the excess of sugar causes problems? The infrastructure of our body is unable to transport this excess sugar and a kind of logistics problem manifests in our body causing Diabetes.

I often meet diabetic patients to inspire them from my reversal story. The first thing they want to know is my Diet Plan. My answer to them in simple one line is - Whole Food Plant Based Diet. They are immediately dejected with my reply. However when I explain the diet in totality they reluctantly begin to show some sign of belief. Before I continue as to how I achieved my reversal I want to share my Whole Plant Based Diet plan.

What is Whole Plant Based Diet

A whole food plant based diet is one of the healthiest diets you can follow. Clinical research studies have shown that adopting a low-fat, plant-derived diet can aid in weight loss, improve insulin sensitivity, reduce blood sugar and cholesterol and reverse a Type II diabetes. Eating a whole plant based foods diet means maximizing your nutrient absorption and including foods from natural sources while avoiding the highly processed foods. Whole natural foods include fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds, legumes and whole grains. A whole food is a food that is as close to its natural state as possible, such as a stalk of broccoli, a raw almond, or a scoop of quinoa, as opposed to a bag of potato chips, packed fruit juices or a ready made snacks.

  • More Fiber. Vegetables are very rich in fiber.

  • Better Digestion. Our body is able to easily process plant based foods.
  • Better Hydration. Fruits and vegetables have water as inherent component.
  • Less Toxins. Since the plant based food contains vitamins and nutrients in natural absorbance form their absorption is easy with lesser byproducts as toxins.
  • Increased Energy Levels. Lesser load on body in utilizing plant based diet  increases energy levels.

I can actually go on and on, however the advantages for a diabetic patient have been mentioned above. One of the side effect of the plant based diet will be loss of extra weight. The body will consume the excess fat and a person will achieve ideal weight. I lost 10 kgs in four weeks. I would recommend you to watch this video. I reversed my Type 2 Diabetes in seven days.


Diabetes is Reversible
In a routine annual check up in Jan 2016 my blood pressure was 160/110, all cholesterol readings were higher than 350 and my fasting/PP blood sugar readings were 297/387. My HBA1C was 9.9℅. I was diagnosed Diabetic and Primary Hypertension. Doctor prescribed about 18 tablets a day. Diabetes as a disease was not new to me, my mother, wife and in-laws were diabetic. I have been taking them to doctors, checking their sugar levels at home and getting their dosage of insulin injections, Metformins & Glymiperides regularly. However I was totally clueless about the nuances and nitty gritty of Diabetes. In a way was happy having completed the last hurdle in achieving A Complete Sweet Family Trophy. When doctor inquired about family history, I very proudly rattled it out as a jingle. I with a pride rang up my father-in-law to announce the achievement and all hell broke loose. When the phone got disconnected (Thanks to service provider) after 39 minutes, the one sided conversation experienced by me was like the artillery fire of thousand guns (My father-in-law is a Veteran Gunner). I still remember it was 23 Jan 2016. This changed my outlook towards Diabetes. Since doctors had prescribed numerous more tests I was destined to be in hospital for one more week. This gave me an opportunity to discover Diabetes holistically.

In Jan 2016 I was 47 years old, smoking, drinking, 108 Kgs and all junk food outlets were my favorite choice for dinners. I am a fairly good cook and Sunday barbecue had been a family affair for years. The physical activity was almost zero due to  desk job and my late night parties was a normal routine. Naturally the weekends were a celebrations. In nutshell this routine check up was God sent wake up call and I fortunately had all ears to it. I have never taken tablets or syrups during illness and when nurses gave me 18 tablets a day, I just couldn't swallow them.

In the next one week I armed my self with all the information on the Internet and gained every piece of knowledge on diabetes. I ordered two steam cookers online, purchased a book, for the first time in my life paid for a recipe book in PDF format and ordered a one hour presentation in CD format. Armed with my weapons of diabetes destruction I got discharged from hospital on 30th of Jan 2016.

Only fruits for Breakfast
Diabetes is a lifestyle disease. In the last three to four decades our food has got contaminated. This is due to commercialization of food. The ever increasing population has also forced mankind to scientifically discover better options and unfortunately we have genetically modified our food. This has altered the natural constituents of our food and in turn caused diseases like diabetes. Diabetes thus is a  manifestation due to the breakdown of our natural metabolism due to our lifestyle. The cure lies in lifestyle change. Time is of less importance and more importantly, lifestyle change of our food and daily routine is the one requisite to reverse diabetes.

31 Jan 2016. The first day I fasted and had only water for 24 hours. I changed my lifestyle and completely shifted to whole plant based diet. This day was spent on buying fruits, vegetables, honey, walnuts, almonds, cashew and raisins. The next day onward changed my diet. I continued with my diabetes and hypertension medication.

Whole plant based diet

I had two principles to guide my diet.
(a). Raw food. 80℅ raw diet. Fruits for breakfast, salad of raw vegetables for lunch and dinner.
(b). (i) Carbohydrate - 50℅
       (ii) Protein - 30℅
       (iii) Fats - 20℅
(c). One hour of sitting in sun daily.
(d). One hour of exercise daily.


06 Feb 16.  My wife, who had been diabetic for last 12 years was very patiently witnessing my change and was very critical about it. She was of the opinion that diabetes is chronic and genetic. I was checking my blood sugar and blood pressure daily. Within a week I noticed the drop in readings. At about five o'clock in the evening I was feeling bit uncomfortable. I checked my blood sugar and it was 80. I immediately stopped all diabetes medication. This was the seventh day of my whole plant based diet.

27 Feb 2016. I got all my tests done. My PP fasting reading was 92/102, all cholesterol readings were normal except HDL (19), my blood pressure was 140/100. I continued with hypertension medication and today stopped all cholesterol medication.


26 Mar 2016. All my readings were beautifully normal. Blood pressure was 140/90. HBA1C reading was 7.2%.
The transformation

25 Jan 2017. I am 78 kgs today. All my readings are normal. I am not taking any medication. My cholesterol readings are perfect, blood pressure is 133/84, fasting/PP readings are 92/102 and HBA1C is 5.6℅. My wife was Diabetic for last 12 years. She was unable to walk even a km. She is off Diabetes medication for last five months. She now runs 10 Km daily, five in the morning and five in the evening. My mother was Diabetic for last 18 years. Three years ago she was on insulin injection. For the last six months she has not taken any Diabetes medication. A fortnight ago I was able to successfully get her cataract removed from right eye and will be operated for left eye after three months.
